Bristol City players were already en-route when Crystal Palace game was called off
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has asked the Football League to launch an enquiry after their Championship match against Crystal Palace was called off.
Just a few hours after an official inspection gave the match the thumbs up, another said the pitch was unsafe after-all.
Ref Kevin Wright and match officials had initially said the game could go ahead, but a second inspection discovered some frozen patches on the grass.
By then, City players were already on the M4 on their coach and had to turn around and head home. They were given yesterday off and are training again today ahead of their rearranged FA Cup third round tie against Severnside rivals Cardiff on Tuesday evening.
Disappointment as well for Bristol Rovers, whose League One fixture against Stockport was also cancelled, although that was well in advance.
Bristol Rugby's clash with Moseley in the Championship has also been postponed.
