A win for the Gas at the Mem
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope paid tribute to the impact of Darryl Duffy following their 2-0 win over Hartlepool at the Memorial Stadium.
Chris Lines put the Pirates in front after just three minutes before substitute Duffy put the result beyond doubt shortly after the hour mark, with Hartlepool coming up against an inspired goalkeeper in Mikkel Andersen as he pulled off two crucial saves to keep them out.
Trollope said: "Darryl's movement didn't always come off, but it was much better than our strikers had shown in the first half.
"Hartlepool got their tactics spot on by stringing five players across midfield and caused us some problems.
"They will be disappointed not to have got on the scoresheet. But we did better after the break and could easily have had a third goal in the closing stages."
