Surfers turned out on the banks of the River Severn this morning to catch a rare wave.
The Severn Bore is a large natural surge of water that travels up the Severn estuary a couple of times a month, but it tends to be particularly large around March.
Surfers, canoeists and boaters tried to get a space on the river as the bore washed upstream through Gloucestershire earlier.
The wave was the largest of the year so far reaching 6.5ft at its peak.
It is created by the tide from the Atlantic flowing into the Bristol Channel and forcing the water into an increasingly small space.
The depth and width of the Severn decreases as it runs further inland which causes the wave to grow.
