Saturday, August 28th 2010 09:12

It now looks highly unlikely that Somerset can take the Division One County Championship title.

Their latest match against Durham at Taunton was ruined by heavy rain for two days, meaning it ended in a draw.

Somerset declared on 400 for 6 before the visitors managed to reach 37 for no wicket at the end of play.

But elsewhere leaders Nottinghamshire secured a three wicket victory over Lancashire.

That leaves Nottinghamshire 16 points clear at the top of the table with three matches remaining in their season.

Somerset only have two matches left to play.
