Saturday, January 2nd 2010 11:19

Five tries gave Bristol Rugby the win they were after over Cornish Pirates last night.

Despite the freezing weather, a turnout of 7,714 people made last night's match at the Memorial Stadium a record for the Championship.

After leapfrogging Exeter to the top of the table last weekend at Sandy Park, Bristol retained their top spot with the win over the Pirates.

Paul Hull made six changes to the side.

Bristol conceded the first half but recovered to win by a margin of 16 points.

Final score: 31-15.
