Bristol City entertains Millwall in their opening game of the new campaign.
The Robins enter the new season in poor shape, with mixed pre-season results and an injury room full of players.
At one point earlier this week only 13 players were able to train. Steve Coppell admits it's the worst injury crisis he's ever faced.
Lewin Nyatanga, James Wilson, and striker Nicky Maynard are all out with knee problems. New signing Nicky Hunt has damaged his ankle. Louis Carey, Kalifa Cisse, Danny Haynes are also out and Christian Ribeiro is still struggling with a back problem.
It's thought young Joe Edwards is an option at right-back. The club also brought in Wolves striker Sam Vokes on Thursday on a 5 month loan to ease their situation.
As well as the injury woes, Coppell has warned the squad to be on their guard as the newly promoted Millwall will be coming into the game wanting to make a big impression: "They have unit that's been successful over the whole of last season. They've added to the quad and they've had more or less the key plays still there. They want to make an impact in this division, they won't want to be season visitors, they really what to get in amongst the teams."
All eyes will no doubt be on new star signing David James today who's expected to be in goal for the Robins.
He told us after settling in; he's looking for to the challenge: "In the short time I've been here the response has been very positive which is nice now, but it's up to me to perform and justify the move and justify the intentions we at Bristol City have."
Today's game kicks off at 3pm at Ashton Gate.
