Jon Lewis celebrates in Rotterdam.

Gloucestershire beat the Netherlands in Rotterdam to keep their hopes of a semi-final place alive in the Clydesdale Bank 40.

Jon Lewis took three wickets for as many runs to ensure Gloucestershire's hopes of reaching the Clydesdale Bank 40 semi-finals remained alive with a 54-run win over the Netherlands in Rotterdam.

In a match reduced to ten overs per side by rain, Will Porterfield (46) and James Franklin (45 not out) helped the Gladiators post 122-3 after losing the toss.

Then Lewis ripped out the top three Netherlands batsmen in quick succession to leave them 14-3 in reply before the end of the third over.
The home side never recovered and struggled to 68-6 from their ten overs, giving Gloucestershire the victory they needed to retain hopes of being the best second placed team in the three Clydesdale Bank groups.

The Gladiators now have 14 points from ten games to lie second to Yorkshire in Group B. They are four points behind the leaders, having played the same number of matches, and one ahead of third placed Essex, who have a game in hand.

In Group A Sussex lie second to Somerset with 15 points from 11 fixtures. And in Group C Notts are second to Warwickshire with 13 points from nine games.

Gloucestershire will almost certainly have to win their last two matches to stand a chance of being the best second placed side. But if they can succeed against the Netherlands at home and Northants away they will have a chance.
