Mali international Kalifa Cisse has given Bristol City a boost by declaring himself fit to return to Championship action.
Cisse stepped up his comeback from injury with an hour for the reserves in their 4-1 win over Aldershot.
The midfielder enjoyed the added bonus of an assist in the behind-closed-doors match, which was aimed at boosting the fitness of the former Reading man, as well as Christian Ribeiro and Louis Carey.
City took a 16th minute lead when ex-Aldershot loanee Marlon Jackson headed in from Jimmy Keohane's floated free kick.
Aldershot were back on level terms on 20 minutes when a cross to the back post was stabbed in by Damian Spencer - the City Academy product who scored for the club at Wembley in 2000.
City were back ahead 60 seconds later though, with Cisse splitting the visiting defence with a stunning through pass to offer Bobby Medjedoub a simple finish under the keeper.
John Akinde added a third ten minutes after half-time, nodding in a left-wing cross from Tom Williams.
The rout was completed by substitute Tom Andrews with a stunning half-volley from 18 yards across the keeper. Akinde hit the post late on, but the result was beyond doubt by then.
