They beat Preston North End 4-2, with the City goals coming from Danny Hayes, Liam Fontaine, Louis Carey and Evander Sno.
Hayes tweaked a hamstring during the clash and will be assessed ahead of their FA Cup replay against Cardiff on Tuesday night.
