Rafal Nowak and his ex-partner have been charged in connection with the death of Catherine Wells-Burr.

Nowak has been accused of conspiring to murder his 23-year-old girlfriend whose body was found in a burnt our car a week ago.

The 31-year-old is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 18th.

His former partner, Polish national, Anna Julia Lagwinowicz has also been charged with conspiracy to murder and was remanded in custody after appearing in court today. The 32-year-old will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on October 9th.

Another 38-year-old man arrested in connection with the case remains in police custody.

Catherine's body was found in a burnt out car in a lane in Ashill near Illminster on September 12th.

She was wokring as a business analyst at Numatic International Ltd in Chard after graduating with a first class honours degree in Business and Management from Bath Spa University in 2011. Today a spokesperson from the university said that everyone was 'deeply saddened' about her death and that she would be 'fondly remembered' by all those who knew her.

Detective Inspector Simon Crisp who is leading the inquiry said: "I am still extremely keen to speak to a number of people who have not yet come forward.

"We know that there were many motorists that past the site of this crime on Wednesday morning, and those people may have information that could help us. I would ask that you come forward and speak with us no matter how small you think your information may be, please let us decide.

"It is also important that we speak with anyone who may have been in the area between 3am and 6am on Wednesday, using the roads between Chard and Ashill (the A358). Did you see a red Ford Focus, 5 door hatch back that may have been in company with another vehicle? If you did, please contact us."
