A 17-year-old girl has been killed in a road crash in Bristol.

She was a passenger in a Mini Cooper which hit a wall in St George last night.

Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS) were called to the scene on Blackswarth Road at 10.17pm, after the car collided with a boundary wall.

Three ambulances and two rapid response vehicles were called.

Crews say on arrival one person was standing outside the vehicle, with two people still trapped inside.

Two casualties were taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary and one was taken to Frenchay Hospital.

GWAS say the female passenger had serious head injuries.  Avon and Somerset Police tell us she later died in hospital.

The 23-year-old man who was driving the car is still in hospital, and remains in a serious condition.

Anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact the police's collision investigation unit on 0845 456 7000.
