Rosie

A dog walker has launched an appeal to try and trace the owner of a dog who it's thought attacked his 16 week old puppy on Wednesday.

Greg LeTocq was walking his Yorkshire Terrier, Rosie in Greville Smyth Park at 9.50am when the attack happened.

"She was playing with her toy when suddenly two dogs came running at her. They attacked her and they mauled her." he told us.

"The owner finally got to the dog and lept on him. I pulled Rosie away and she had blood all around her mouth - then I rushed her to the vet.

Despite their best efforts Rosie died from her injuries an hour later.

"First the vets thought she'd just been bitten on the mouth but then they saw there was a bit of a breathing problem so we had to get her straight to the animal hospital on Well's Road."

"They did some X-Rays and found out she'd punctured her lungs and there was air in her lungs - after about an hour she didn't make it."

The case is being investigated by the Dog Warden who has asked for any witnesses who might have seen a white man walking a German Shepard with dreadlocks to come forward.
