Bristol comedian Justin Lee Collins says he will never accept allegations that he violently abused his former partner
The TV presenter was found guilty of harassing Anna Larke at St Albans Crown Court earlier this week. The jury heard how Collins subjected his former girlfriend, 38, to sustained emotional and domestic abuse during their seven month relationship.
Collins has since released a statement saying that he will never accept the allegation that he was "violent or an abuser" but added: "I accept that the jury have found elements of my conduct amounted to harassment, which I apologise for unreservedly."
The 38-year-old from Kew in South West London said he deeply regrets the "distress and anguish" he caused with his behaviour and has decided not to appeal against the conviction, for which he was ordered to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work.
