Wednesday, August 18th 2010 00:00

We're being reassured at least 2,000 people who've flown from Bristol airport won't have their holidays ruined, after Kiss Flights has gone bust.

Kiss Flights - which is owned by Flight Options, sold seats on up to 10 flights a week to Greece, Egypt, Turkey and the Canary Islands.

A statement, released by bosses at Bristol Airport has said the Civil Aviation Authority will be able to return passengers to the UK as their holidays are ATOL protected.

Passengers who've not yet left the country with forward bookings with the company will be able to claim a full refund for the ATOL-protected elements of their holiday from the CAA.   Because the company has failed at the height of summer, the CAA is also putting in place arrangements to allow people to travel out on their holidays for the next 24 hours, to minimise confusion and protect passengers.

As a result, Kiss Flights customers booked to travel from Bristol Airport to Kos on Viking Airlines flight VIK935 at 07:20 on Wednesday 18th August should go to the airport and check in as normal.  Kiss Flights customers with forward bookings on any other flights should not travel but can make a claim for a refund from the CAA.

Kiss Flights customers who are currently overseas should arrive at the airport in time to check-in for their flights home as normal.

Kiss Flights customers who are currently abroad and experiencing difficulties should contact the CAA for more information on 0044 161 444 5811. Those with forward bookings requiring general advice about refunds under the ATOL scheme should go to the CAA website or can contact the CAA on 0844 571 7262.
