Today, bailiffs have been trying to evict protestors campaigning against plans to turn a disused building into a Tescos on Stokes Croft.
At the start of February, the supermarket announced plans to develop the old Jesters comedy club.
We've been told an application from the squatters to stay in the building was turned down by the courts last Tuesday.
The protestors told us 4 bailiffs arrived this morning with a couple of police to serve an eviction notice.
Around 15 squatters have now barricaded themselves in and are sitting on the roof - it's expected they'll be getting a visit from the police later today.
Elisabeth Winkler was at the protest and she told us things have been brewing for a while.
"The squatters went to court last Tuesday to try to stay here legally but the court denied their application to turn it into a community space. So as a resulty I guess the bailiffs have come down today to force an evicition."
She added there are alternative ways to develop the site.
"One of the plans...is a local food co-op for affordable, unprocessed, healthy, locally sourced organic food and to my mind that would be a much better contribution to the local community."
