Joe Dymond WilliamsA gig is being held at Colston Hall tonight to celebrate the life of Bristol teenager Joe Dymond-Williams.
Joe died from serious head injuries after trying to stop a fight while on a night out in King Street in June 2008.
The injuries he suffered that night meant he was in a coma for a fortnight before his life support machine was switched off.
Tonight's concert will raise money for the Rainbow Centre For Children in Totterdown, a charity chosen by Joe's parents.
Concert organiser Daz Sims told us more about the charity: "They do massive amounts of work for children with cancer and life threatening illnesses like therapies to help them through their traumatic times. So the Rainbow Centre will be benefiting from the concert and also the almost years' worth of fund raisers we've carried out to enable to get the expenses for the concert."
Andy Pugh - a close family friend, is helping to organise tonight's concert. He told us the teenager is still badly missed.
"Joe was such an articulate, intelligent and highly gifted person in many ways. He was also very socially aware and would always look after those around him who were less fortunate. It wasn't just Joe's family and friends who've felt his loss but the wider community in general because he did help a lot of people."
