Concerns have been raised that Bristol City Council's on-line consultation forms are too confusing for people wishing to have their say.
The authority is currently carrying out a public consultation over future plans for the city's parks.
The Parks and Green Space Strategy is looking into making improvements to some spaces which will be funded by the sale of other parts of land.
But MP Charlotte Leslie claims local people are confused in how they can have their say on the plans and that the council's online process is difficult to follow and understand. She said: "I am very keen to assist where I can in ensuring the green space strategy provides a genuine overall enhancement of Bristol and a genuine overall improvement to those local communities in my constituency.
"Ensuring that local people's voices are heard and that the strategy is driven by communities' specialist local knowledge and needs is key to the success of the strategy.
"But I have been approached by many communities who find the current council consultation reply forms so complex and impenetrable as to be, in effect, not fit for the purpose of giving all members of the public a say.
"Indeed, the problems with the forms are so widespread and serious that several communities will be setting up drop in sessions themselves to help other members of the public fill in these complex forms. This kind of state of affairs does not constitute a fair access consultation process."
The North West MP has now written to the council highlighting the issue and is calling for the process to be improved making more accessible for people.
It thought that many people are also unaware that filling out the on-line form isn't the only option. You can write directly to the council expressing your views.
