Runners can register to take part from today.
Applications are now being taken for the 2010 Bristol Half Marathon.
It is the leading road race in the South West, with up to 20,000 runners taking part.
The official charities this year are CLIC Sargent - the races official national charity, St Peters Hospice,
the official local charity and international childrens charity, COCO.
John Flanagan, Community Fundraising Manager for St Peters Hospice, said:
"We hope thousands of people will consider running for us or helping marshal on the big day. The specialized service we provide free of charge in the community and at our site in Brentry costs over £6million each year so being chosen as the official local race charity for 2010 means we will be able to ensure we can continue the work of the Hospice in Bristol."
