Two coaches for the Robins are going out to Bristol's twin city, Beira, Mozambique to help support the sport out there.

Bristol's 2018 Bid team along with the club and Bristol Link with Beira, have teamed up with the FA and FIFA's official charity, Coaching for Hope.

The charity aims to use the universal love of football to help improve people's lives.

From today two Bristol City coaches will receive extra training which will enable them to then travel to Mozambique to teach others.

They'll teach volunteer coaches a few tricks of the trade and how to recognised FA standards so they can support any potential stars of the future in their development.

But it's not just about the football, the volunteers will also deliver HIV awareness sessions to young people in their own communities, combining the information with playing the sport.

Bristol 2018 Bid Director, Stephen Wray said: "The Bristol Link with Beira and Coaching for Hope are charities that we are proud to support. By training people to coach others in some of the world's most deprived regions not only helps to alleviate major issues today, but will have a lasting effect for the future of Africa. Through Bristol 2018 and the city's link with Beira, we hope that with the power of football we can go some way to help those less fortunate than ourselves in our twin city."

Bristol Link with Beira's, Alix Hughes said: "Having seen first hand Coaching for Hope's work in the Kayalitsha township in Cape Town during the World Cup, I am confident Coaching For Hope are the best partners for Bristol 2018's supported football development and HIV/aids awareness project in Beira. I'm sure that their innovative, refreshing and very positive approach will enable a lasting and successful initiative in our twin city in Mozambique."
